I didn’t use to like cumbia. When I used to work in Lima, the trips I would make in combis to and from work were not fully enjoyable because combi drivers there play cumbia most of the time. Here in the north of Peru, cumbia is even more popular than in Lima. People play it all the time, everywhere. When I go to work, there is cumbia in the combi. If there is a party, most of the songs are cumbia songs. Even though I used to prefer other kinds of music, cumbia is now part of the many memorable experiences I am having here. Today, I want to thank God for all the memories that will come to my mind when I listen to cumbia in the future.
