Hi, Mike.

 Greetings from Chile!

 Right now, I'm in a beautiful city called Frutillar. I'm here with my friend Daniel. He's from Peru, but he lives in Chile.

 Frutillar is very quiet, clean, and interesting. The streets are quiet here because there are no buses. The streets are not crowded with people, either. There is a beautiful lake and a lot of trees; and there are small restaurants and little shops in front of the lake. I'm at El Teatro del Lago now. It's right in front of the lake. It's big and modern. I like the houses in this city, too. They are different from the houses in Lima. I'm very happy because the people are really friendly with me. This place is just beautiful!

COMENTARIOS

Se usa el verbo to be y adjectives:
  • Right now, I'm in a beautiful city called Frutillar. / En este momento, yo estoy en una hermosa ciudad llamada Frutillar.
  • I'm here with my friend Daniel. / Yo estoy aquí con mi amigo Daniel.
  • He's from Peru, but he lives in Chile. / Él es de Perú; pero él vive en Chile.
  • Frutillar is very quiet, clean, and interesting. / Frutillar es bien tranquila, limpia e interesante.
  • The streets are quiet here. / Las calles son tranquilas aquí.
  • The streets are not crowded with people, either. / Las calles no están llenas de gente, tampoco.
  • I'm at El Teatro del Lago now. / Yo estoy en El Teatro del Lago ahora.
  • It's right in front of the lake. / Está justo en frente del lago.
  • It's big and modern. / Es grande y moderno.
  • They are different to the houses in Lima. / Estas son diferentes a las casas de Lima.
  • I'm very happy because the people are really friendly with me. / Yo estoy bien contento porque la gente es bien amigable conmigo.
  • This place is just beautiful! / ¡Este lugar es simplemente hermoso!
Hay algunas oraciones con "there is" y "there are". ¿Que significan "there is" y "there are"? Ambas frases significan hay (del verbo haber). La diferencia es que "there is" se usa son sustantivos en singular y "there are" con sustantivos en plural.
  • There are no buses. / No hay buses.
  • There is a beautiful lake and a lot of trees. / Hay un lago hermoso y muchos árboles.
  • There are small restaurants and little shops in front of the lake. / Hay restaurantes chicos y tiendas pequeñas en frente del lago.
