Puedes, por supuesto, hacer preguntas como las siguientes:
  • How's the weather in your city? / ¿Cómo es el clima en tu ciudad?
  • How's the weather in your hometown? / ¿Cómo es el clima en tu ciudad natal?
  • How's the weather today? / ¿Cómo está el clima hoy?
  • What's the weather like in the summer here? / ¿Cómo es el clima en el verano aquí?
  • What's the weather like in summertime? / ¿Cómo es el clima en el verano?
  • What's the weather like in the winter? / ¿Cómo es el clima en el invierno?
  • What's the weather like in wintertime? / ¿Cómo es el clima en el invierno?
  • What's the weather like at noon? / ¿Cómo es el clima al medio día?
  • What's the weather like at night? / ¿Cómo es el clima en la noche?

¿Cómo puedes contestar dichas preguntas?


Hay varias maneras. Esta es una de ellas:

  • It's + adjective (adjetivo) + ...
  • It's windy and cool. / Es ventoso y fresco.
  • It's foggy and wet. / Es brumoso (lleno de niebla) y lluvioso.
  • It's hot and humid. / Es caluroso y húmedo.
  • It's breezy and a little bit chilly. / Es con brisa y un poco fresco.

Otra manera de hablar del clima es usando esta fórmula:

  • It + verbo que termine en "s" (verbo conjugado en la tercera persona en singular) + ...
  • It rains almost every day. / Llueve casi todos los días.
  • It snows, especially at night. /  Nieva, especialmente por las noches.

También puedes usar el verbo "get" seguido de un adjetivo:
  • It gets + adjective (adjetivo) + ...
  • It's hot, but it gets chilly at night. / Es caluroso pero se pone fresco en la noche.
  • It's cold, but it gets warm at noon. / Es frío pero se pone templado al medio día.
  • It's cool, but it gets a little cold at night. / Es fresco pero se pone un poco frío por la noche.

Este modelo también es usado:
  • There + be + quantifiers (some, a lot of, many, much, any) + noun (sustantivo)
  • There is some rain. / Hay algo de lluvia.
  • There is a lot of rain in the winter. / Hay bastante lluvia en el invierno.
  • There is a lot of wind in the fall. / Hay bastante viento en el otoño.
  • There isn't much humidity. / No hay mucha humedad.
  • There aren't many sunny days year-round. / No hay muchos días soleados en el año.
  • There aren't many clear days in the winter. / No hay muchos días despejados en el invierno.
  • There isn't any fog in the summer. / No hay nada de niebla en el verano.

Puedes usar el presente continuo en estos casos:
  • How's the weather today? / ¿Cómo está el clima hoy?
  • It's raining heavily now. / Está lloviendo fuertemente ahora.
  • It's snowing heavily at the moment. / Está nevando fuertemente en este momento.
  • It's drizzling in Lima now. / Está garuando en Lima ahora.
  • It's hailing heavily in Huancayo today. / Está granizando fuertemente en Huancayo hoy.
  • It's getting warm now. / Se está poniendo templado ahora.
