WRITING ABOUT YOUR HOUSE OR APARTMENT


Si tienes que escribir una descripción de tu casa o apartamento de una manera sencilla usando vocabulario y gramática básicos, usa información que se encuentra en "posts" anteriores. ¿Qué gramática usar? Si tienes que hablar de tu casa en general, las cosas que te gustan de tu casa, las cosas que hay en tu casa, de tu ambiente favorito, de las cosas que haces en tu ambiente favorito, y otros datos generales, entonces usa el presente simple. Recuerda que se usa el presente simple cuando hablamos de cosas en general, gustos y descripciones de algo.

Mira el siguiente ejemplo. Luego, estudia el vocabulario y la gramática que se emplean en el párrafo. También, piensa en cómo están organizadas las ideas.

INSTRUCTIONS: Write a description of your apartment or house. / INSTRUCCIONES: Escribe una descripción de tu apartamento o casa.


 I live with my family in a big apartment in Surco. We live on the sixth floor. There are eight rooms in my apartment. There is a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I share the bedroom with my brother. My sister has her own room. My favorite room is the living room. I like it because it is really big and I can do many interesting things there. For example, I can watch movies and play video games with my friends there. In the living room, there is a very big TV and  there are two really comfortable sofas. My apartment is very beautiful. I love it.

¿Qué puedes ver en el párrafo?


Las oraciones están en el presente simple.
  • I live with my family in a big apartment in Surco. / Yo vivo con mi familia en un departamento grande en Surco.
  • We live on the sixth floor. / Nosotros vivimos en el sexto piso.
  • There are eight rooms in my apartment. / Hay ocho ambientes en mi departamento.
  • I share the bedroom with my brother. / Yo comparto el dormitorio con mi hermano.
  • My sister has her own room. / Mi hermana tiene su propio cuarto.
  • My favorite room is the living room. / Mi ambiente favorito es la sala.
  • I like it because it is really big and I can do many interesting things there. / Me gusta (la sala) porque (esta) es bien grande y yo puedo hacer muchas cosas interesantes allí.
  • I can watch movies and play video games with my friends there. / Yo puedo ver películas y jugar video juegos con mis amigos allí.
  • In the living room, there is a very big TV and  there are two really comfortable sofas. / En la sala, hay un televisor bien grande y hay dos sofás bien cómodos.
  • My apartment is very beautiful. / Mi departamento es bien bonito.
  • I love it. / Me gusta (mi departamento).
También usas "there + be" para decir "hay".
  • There are eight rooms in my apartment. / Hay ocho ambientes en mi departamento.
  • In the living room, there is a very big TV and  there are two really comfortable sofas. / En la sala, hay un televisor bien grande y hay dos sofás bien cómodos.
También usas adjetivos, sustantivos e "intensifiers". ¿Cuales son los "intensifiers"? "Really" y "very".
  • In the living room, there is a very big TV and  there are two really comfortable sofas. / En la sala, hay un televisor bien grande y hay dos sofás bien cómodos.
  • My apartment is very beautiful. / Mi departamento es bien bonito.
En un "post" futuro, hablaremos de "intensifiers".
